be still and know that he is God

today i was reading in genesis chapter 32 about how jacob wrestled with God. In verse 29 it says:
"'what is your name?' jacob asked him. 'why do you ask?' the man replied. then he blessed jacob there."
what a simple question, and yet God blessed him without answering it. it was not about who he was. it was about what he did. i have to admit that i often want to know the answers to my own various questions. i want God to explain it all to me. i simply cannot sit still and take joy in the fact that he has blessed me. sometimes it is not about finding the answers, it is about recognizing the truth that is staring us in the face. our God is amazing and i am so very blessed to know him and follow him.
today has challenged me to sit still and listen to the voice of God rather than bombard him with full doses of whys and hows that stem from agendas that i have created.
be still and know that he is God.

I found you, and I like this! Streams in the Desert had a devo about wrestling with God earlier this week, so your post touched me!
I LOVE THAT SONG.
